Frequently asked questions

When does the next case appear?
A new daily case starts at midnight UTC, so every player gets the same kanji on the same day. The home screen shows a countdown.

How do I restore Kanji Detective Plus?
Plus is a one-time purchase tied to your Apple Account. Open any Plus feature to show the purchase screen, then tap Restore Purchases. It's also shared with your family through Family Sharing.

Can I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Is my progress backed up?
Your progress and streaks are stored on your device and are included in your device backups. They don't sync between devices.

Where does the kanji data come from?
From open sources including KANJIDIC2, JMdict, KanjiVG and Tatoeba. They're credited in the app under the (i) button on the home screen.
